This paper which takes a ship manufacturing enterprises as background, surveys the materials management process and RFID technology. An online material tracking management system is developed though RFID technology. This system can track the whole material management process, from material management, material procurement, storage, to the material production, in order to improve the operational efficiency of enterprises, and enhance response capabilities, which can improve the transparency of information.This paper reviews the background, from the angle of enterprises, and pints out the purpose and significance of this research firstly. The key technologies of the system is introduced in the second chapter, briefly on the Internet of things and its key technology. Then a brief description about RFID is introduced including RFID technology and wireless network technology. The broad application prospect is pointed out with automatic identification, material logistics management application, especially in ship industry. The third chapter summarizes the general research situation of material management in enterprise, and the necessity of analyzing the system construction about the enterprise material management business process. On this basis, the functional requirements of the system is summarized. The fourth chapter designs the system architecture, according to the specific characteristics of intelligent storage system and the specific business needs. The system function module is designed according to the characteristics of enterprise data. The system database ER graph is pointed out in the topological structure of the network system. The fifth chapter introduces the realization of the system one by one module. The data acquisition module maionly introduces how to read and write material information through RFID and ZigBee technology. The material management module maionly introduces how to complete material storage, warehousing and inventory information management online. The inquiry module introduces how to inquire material database through web client. The material tracking module introduces the algorithm of tracking material management information. The last chapter summarizes the paper, and points out the deficiencies in the performance of the system, such as coding efficiency, compatibility and the lack of decision support function. These will be improved in the future.
