Selection And Analysis Of Electronic Resources Management System In University Library

With the rapid increase of the type and number of the electronic resources, the development of literature in the world has become unstopable, the rapid development of the information technology makes the electronic resource in the library increase. The new resources not only bring us convenience, but also have effective impact on the structure of the library collection resources and the management activities. These are mainly reflected in the following aspects: the traditional ILS cannot manage a large number of the electronic resources effectively. The librarians cannot deal with a variety of electronic resources by using some simple tools. This situation makes it difficult for libraries to bring in and make better use of the electronic resources.For the Electronic Resources Management System, it can be understood as: According to the commercial and licensing of the electronic resource, in the effective selection, assessment, interview and facilitate access to the electronic resources, the system provide management support. In recent years, there are some articles about the ERMS, but most of them are limited on the level of the introduction of the foreign products.From the point of view of the significance of ERMS to the university library, this paper points out some difficulties in the introduction and management of electronic resources in University Libraries in China and the reasons why the library is in urgent need of ERMS, it also pointed out the problems while using the system.
