Linear CCD is widely used in photoelectric detection technology with its function of directly converting optical signal into analog signal. Each module of the linear CCD acquisition system is controlled and coordinated by studying the massively parallel processing feature of FPGA. The optical signal is collected with linear CCD and the system output data is communicated with RS-232. Which can be used for secondary development.This thesis studied the linear CCD optical signal acquisition system which is divided into two parts: the lower computer and the upper machine. The lower machine includes the Linear CCD driver, the linear CCD optical signal acquisition, the analog-to-digital conversion of signal acquisition, FIFO to cache data and Serial transmission etc. The upper computer includes the data transmission/receiving, processing and storage etc.In the hardware system of lower machine, FPGA and linear CCD are the core, together with A/D converters, amplifiers and other related devices, which complete the hardware system. EP4CE15F17C8 of Altera's Cyclone IV FPGA family was chosen because of its high reliability, rich in resources and its performance met the design requirements. Linear CCD is an image acquisition chip TCD1304 DG produced by Japanese Toshiba Co. Communication mode is RS232 serial communication protocol since the RS-232 possesses wide range of applications and is easy to be programmed.In the upper computer system, Lab VIEW was implemented as a development platform. Lab VIEW is particularly suitable for data collection and communication processing systems. In upper computer system, RS-232's serial communications were achieved by VISA library of Lab View. The PC software system receiving collected data through serial ports and the data would be displayed and applied for Fourier transform. The data were stored in excel format. The accuracy and reliability of the CCD data collection through serial communication are verified by using the program of upper computer system.Finally, the Michelson interferometer, the collected interference fringes and the data processed by linear CCD acquisition system were discussed. The performance of linear CCD acquisition system was tested and the errors of the CCD system was analyzed.
