Abstract/Summary:
Infrared imaging technology has been widely used in military. With its rapid development, the output image data obtained by infrared sensors is increasingly large, which brings difficulties for the real-time transmission of infrared image. For this reason, the study of the real-time infrared small target image compression and transmission is very important to the application of infrared imaging techniques. This dissertation, supported by the general armaments department pre-research project, investigates the real-time infrared small target image compression and transmission system, mainly including the following contents:1) Design general scheme of the real-time infrared small target image compression and transmission system. According to the large amount of infrared small target image data, high frame rate and high real-time requirements, a scheme of the real-time infrared small target image compression and transmission is designed,which combines with compressive sensing and JPEG Image Compression Technique. This scheme mainly consists of several core modules such as the real-time separation between the foreground image and background image, image compression based on compressive sensing, JPEG Image Compression, real-time transmission and image recovery.2) Build the hardware design on the real-time infrared small target image compression and transmission system. Hardware in this system is made up by the separation module between the foreground image and background image, image compress module, data transmission module and so on. The system’s hardware platform is designed and built, which mainly includes the corresponding components: a FPGA chip used for the separation between the foreground image and the background image, a DSP chip employed for image compression and the network card chip used for data network transmission.3) Complete the software design on the real-time infrared small target image compression and transmission system. The driver module of foreground and background image data acquisition, the module of foreground image compression based on CS, the module of background image compression based on JPEG and the module of network transmission are finished on the DSP chip. The network receiving module and the reconstruction module of the background image and the foreground image and the infrared small target image data are completed on the Windows platform. The software design realizes the infrared small target image compression and transmission.4) Conduct the application experiment of the real-time infrared small target image compression and transmission system. Real-time compression and transmission experiments are used to test the designed system through infrared small target images obtained in the real outfield. The experiment results are accordant with simulation results, which shows that this system is able to stably compress and transmit the infrared small target image in real-time and meets the related technical indexes of the real project.
