Contemporary French Marxist thinker Guy de Bourgh proposed the theory of the society of spectacle in 1960 s, which described the mass consumption society built by capitalist countries after the World War II according to rules of landscape. While contemporary culture researcher D Kellnel proposed the idea of media spectacle according to Guy de Bourgh’s theory. Later, various media spectacles are complex with splendor.And media spectacle even become the main characteristic of this era. This thesis, with the example of Live Military News in Shenzhen TV, analyze media spectacle of television military program and consumption dissimulation from the view of consumption culture and visual spectacle.In the study, this thesis, relying on the theoretical analyzed framework of cultural research, criticize and inspect the media spectacle of military program on TV and practical theory. Temporary military program. This spectacle generates in accordance with special real context: with the transformation of society, consumerism developed in China, which means it has complex cultural meaning. The study of media spectacle of military program on TV follows a rule, which is the consumption and comprehension of generation and audience. At first, social context where media spectacle of military program on TV in China is analyzed on the base of media spectacle theory. Besides, this thesis analyzed the text of military program spectacle on TV from the meaning of semiotics and described the complex strategy. At last, this thesis discussed the general public’s way to consume and comprehend the military program spectacle text. However, the general public haven’t been the receiver, but active consumer and producer. Consumption spectacle and comprehension spectacle have been the important route of self-expression and identification for general public.Therefore the thesis analyzed the current situation and generation mechanism ofmilitary program on TV from the view of visual spectacle, which plays an important role in the television program production. At the same time, this thesis enrich the study of television program and technical aesthetics from the view of visual culture. Television’s value exceeds real value, which is a key step in the cultural research.
