The dispersion of aviation departments, the relatively lack of technicians, and less sufficient and timely share of expert experience, result in far from real-time fault diagnosis for plane. With the rapid development of internet, web comes to be the main mode of communication. Web-based fault diagnosis expert system for plane is helpful to overcome some 1imitations of traditional ones, by timely remote fault diagnosis and promoting knowledge accumulation and sharing. So, the design and implementation of a web-based fault diagnosis expert system for S-76 flight control system is studied in this thesis.(1) The technical characteristics of S-76 flight control system are analyzed, including flight control system and function of its main components, the application of its maintenance manual, and trouble shooting flow.(2) S-76 flight control system fault diagnosis knowledge library is constituted. The characteristics and classification of the knowledge is analyzed, the rule and frame knowledge representation methods are adopted, and a database is constituted. The inference principle is introduced, and the fault tree analysis(FTA) and case-based reasoning(CBR) are elaborated.(3) The key technologies of the system are studied, including web system structure,ASP.NET 2.0 Ajax technologies, fault diagnosis database connecting technologies based on ASP.NET, user privilege management technologies based on role based access contro1(RBAC), fundamental structure of expert system.(4) A web-based fault diagnosis expert system for S-76 flight control system is implemented. The system structure and function framework constructed. Based on the technique of ASP.NET 2.0 Ajax, with the help of Access database platform and XML, this web-based system is developed using C#. Several main functions are introduced in detail.This system uses web technique efficiently, achieving the goal of intelligent, real-time fault diagnosis and the goal of mining and accumulation of fault diagnosis knowledge,offering a platform for intercommunion between experts and general users. The user interface is friendly, and the system is easy to maintain and update. This system is a significant attempt and exploration for the development of fault diagnosis expert system for plane on web, which offers a new splendid communication and application platform and environment.
