Since the 1990 s, with the wave of information technology to promote our traditional social model is accelerating to the media of social transformation. Media literacy as a social media should be born of the product, has a close relationship with the public, people need to have the appropriate media literacy to use the media for their daily living, a better way of life to adapt to social media. Therefore, improving the individual's level of media literacy has become an important issue.Research on media literacy in all types of people, the children left behind as China's rapid economic development and urban-rural dual system process "special products", the huge population, the total number of 22% of the total number of children, this group has been growing concern of scholars, recent years, also emerged a part of media literacy for children left behind academic achievements, however, accounted for the largest total in the left-behind children, the largest proportion of single-parent children left behind has become a somewhat lonely groups, all types of children left behind in the type of care, researching on single parent children left behind media literacy problems to improve all types of media literacy education in rural children left behind, the other derived classes to solve problems, improve the overall future population levels of media literacy in rural areas is important.We have already had two two-month observations on them from June 2011 to June 2012.We lived with the children, observed the media habits of them, put forward some prepare designed questions to the typical children and recorded their reactions. Based on this research topic, the author marked some hypotheses, and verified the reliability and validity based on some research methods. This report detailed records of the various steps and links of the research.It found that left-behind children in single-parent families, the majority of mothers with low education levels bear responsibility for media education, their children have a major impact significance of media literacy levels and so on. Further, since the absence of one of the parents work outside the home also on the mental health of children left behind parent, media literacy formation of a certain impact, so that the different media and the general impact of the difference between children of single-parent children left behind, such as: television media in single-parent left-behind children living in the spirit of comfort and entertainment for children and the general effect was quite different; teachers occupy a more important position in single-parent children left behind media literacy education. At the same time, the author of The Status of media literacy and a certain theory of this group proposed policy apply to this group to improve the situation. Hope can be improved to a certain extent on the level of media literacy and parent education of children left behind, but completely resolve this aspect of the left-behind parent children also need to support the relevant country, the government and social workers.
