The continuous improvement of the chip manufacture process makes it possible to integrate different functional modules on a chip. In recent years, System on Chip (SoC) as an interdisciplinary research field, is always a hot point in recent domestic and international studies. More and more application systems are using SoC to shrink the product size, reduce system power-consumption and enhance the working frequency.In this thesis, combined with the current situation of SoC development and the research topic, a fast SoC platform construction scheme is proposed. The whole system adopts the idea of using the co-design approach of hardware/software and reuses open source Intellectual Property (IP) core to build SoC hardware architecture based on WISHBONE bus. On this basis, transplant the U-boot and embedded Linux operating system (OS). Finally, implement in the DE2-115 development board which equipped with Altera's Cyclone IV E series chip. The whole system, whether the hardware part of the microprocessor and the Internet bus protocol, or the software part of the U-boot and Linux, are open source or independent design, greatly reducing the of system development cost. Meanwhile, it's possible to cut and optimize the source code to improve the system performance for the project's requirements. The results of functionality and performance provide reliability for the later ASIC implementation. Besides, the SoC system can also be used as a flexible FPGA prototype verification platform in other IC project developments.The test results indicate:the SoC hardware architecture only consumes field programmable gate array (FPGA) 11068 logic cells(the entire FPGA chip's 10%); Linux system operation is stable and reliable, data can be transmitted without error by the serial port 115200bps and the network port 10/100M, meets the needs of the project. Not long ago, Intel merged and acquired the world's largest FPGA manufacturer: Altera, indicates that the semiconductor industry has entered a new field:PSoC/SoPC. The topic which based on this field has a bright future in applications.
