Research On The Antagonism Of News Images

With the continuous breakthrough of communication technology,digital technology and image technology,the image trend of news spread is obvious.Meanwhile,the audience's reading habits also change similarly.Especially in the network age,the images from the media and users filming compete into cyberspace,but it is beyond the control of original producers or even opposite to the meaning of original images.For all participants can remark and process news images,the information of the images greatly increase.The public's initiative and discourse power in cyberspace has been liberated,so based on different perspectives,the phenomenon that the public's confrontational interpretation of the propaganda news images in various ways is more and more obvious.This paper first analyzes the image trend of news,combined with Holzer's coding/decoding theory and Habermas' s theory of public space,to sum up the characteristics of Internet users' analyzing images in the network age.With annual 20 network hot issues being the focus,selected by the ‘China Internet public opinion analysis report' magazine2007-2015,and other hot events,the paper concludes that confrontational interpretation of news images has four ways: carnival,comparative,investigative and misreading.The study finds that the reasons for confrontational interpretation of news image include:the public's own factors,media and social environment factors.Its effect is two-sides:On the one hand it can strengthen social supervision,expand the impact of event,achieve political catharsis,balance opinion ecological.On the other hand it can stimulate network violence,challenge the agenda setting of media,disintegrate society mainstream values,digest the significance of social culture.Therefore,we should view confrontational interpretation rationally and guide the interpretation effectively.The government should build the mechanism of social trust to digest confrontational interpretation;the mainstream media should assume social responsibility actively and construct the social mainstream values;the public should start from self,return to rational,cultivate the visual literacy and consciously assume social responsibility.
