The traditional service model was designed for communications. It has undergone the development process from original Best-Effort Service Model to Integrated Service Model and Differentiated Service Model. During this period, traditional model has achieved extensibility of network service capability to a certain extent by method of adjusting traditional network architecture and adding protocol patches. However, with the development of network technology and the increasingly wide range of applications, defects of these improvement method based on traditional network architecture have sprung up, which hinder the further development of network services' extensibility. Aiming at the weak expansibility of traditional network service model, concept of the extensible network service model has been proposed. The extensible network service model improves service extensibility with the idea of separating the procotol units compositing them dynamically in order to solve the problem about the sustainable scalability of service capability with the stable system structure.This thesis focuses on the research about control protocol of the extensible network service model, proposes the concept of control engine and its implementation. Control engine is the central system of extensible network service model, it takes responsibility of overall control task in each network node. Firstly, this thesis gives a detailed analysis about the development and operational principle of network service model, and proposes the main defects of current network service models. On this basis, this thesis introduces the concept and principle of extensible network service model, and proposes the concept of control engine also.Secondly, this thesis gives a detailed analysis about main taskes of the control engine. Then it proposes the principle and main operating mechanism of control engine according to the main taskes, designes the key mechanisms of control engine. After that, this thesis gives the main structure of control engine and detailed implementations about each functional module.Lastly, in order to verify the feasibility of this scheme by experiments, the thesis implements a prototype system of control engine. Then this thesis proves the feasibility and correctness of this scheme by some experiments, which also proves the supporting role of control engine on the extensible network service models.
