In the designated area, the wireless sensor network(WSN) can collect information by the sensor nodes. Limited functionality of the sensor nodes sends information through wireless channels. WSN sends the information to the Internet. ZigBee is the most widely used way of communication for WSN. It can provide many applications for solving practical problems. At present, the network deployment theory research of WSN has a lot of research results, but most of them are based on ideal conditions or outdoor scenes. When deploying ZigBee indoor, researchers usually determine the deployment plan based on measuring received power of signal in the deployment scenarios; it need a lot of professional equipments and works. As a vital way to research network deployment, the network simulation software analyzes the network performance and deployment plan before the network deployment.In the thesis, the ZigBee deployment has analysis and simulation in the indoor environment by applying the OPNET.First, the OPNET modeling and the ZigBee Protocol Stack will be introduced and analyzed, then the analysis of the three- layer modeling mechanism and Wireless Pipeline Phases will be shown. Next, based on IEEE802.15.4, the ZigBee Protocol Stack agreement function of each layer and the network topology and routing mechanism will be introduced. The following procedure is analyzing the wireless channel fading model, particularly in the indoor environment.Second, according to the disadvantage of ZigBee model in OPNET, such as undisclosed network layer and incomplete routing function, a network layer is developed on the basis of the ZigBee network set up and routing process fluent. By analyzing the impact node mobility in ZigBee routing mode, the hybrid routing method has a better performance. The experimental results show that the proposed simulation achieves better performance, compared with the original one.Third, in OPNET the different signal attenuation model will be simulated. According to the simulation results, the deployment algorithm in plane and vertical channel structure will be distinguished and reduce the disturbance to the influence of network and eventually form the overall deployment scheme indoor. To evaluate the deployment scheme, an experiment is set up in a two-layer building.Based on the results of simulation, the scheme is performed to extend the analysis of five-layer building. Finally, the future research will be put forward.
