The era of big data and cloud computing is arriving, which marks a new round of revolution in network technology. At the same time, the carrier transport network in bottom layer is inevitably facing new challenges and demands. It is a vital criterion to measure optical network architecture whether it is flexible, open, high scalable and effective. With the development of network technology, optical network architecture is presenting trends of software-defined networks and cloud services. The decouple of control and forwarding in SDN makes networks more flexible and open, while the services from cloud computing provides networks with greater abilities in computing, storage and networking. And thus, the coordination of SDN and cloud services can improve the network performances, simplify the network operation and reduce the cost obviously. Management and control technology of SDON based on cloud platform has been studied, serval main works have been done as follow.(1) According to the limitations in traditional optical network architecture, SDON management and control architecture for multi-domain based on the cloud platform has been proposed combining with SDN and cloud services in the optical network. In the architecture, there are three main plains including cloud control nodes based on OpenStack platform, a network management system based on web development and the optical node extended to support OpenFlow protocol.(2) According to the architecture system, a coordination of concentration and distribution work mechanism is proposed. In addition, the model of cloud vertical model and cloud horizontal model in the multi-domain SDON architecture have been established, and algorithms for route and signaling in cloud multi-domain have been extended to work in multi-domain of clouds.(3) According to SDON management and control architecture proposed in this thesis, every part in each plane has been implemented to be comprised as a complete cloud control experimental platform for multi-domain SDON. And finally, three planes in the architecture work coordinately to validate the feasibility of management and control technology.
