Since the 21st century, with the development of network technology, cloud computing and virtualization technology are used more and more widely. The network virtualization technology such as OpenStack and the SDN technology such as OpenFlow has gotten more and more widely attention and researching. At the same time, the performance of network virtualization technology is required higher and higher.This thesis uses the hardware switch with OpenFlow protocol to realize the optimization of network virtualization, to meet the higher and higher requirement of the more and more users. In this thesis, the main work is as follows:First of all, according to the needs of users, we have done the demand analysis and overall design project of the system. The whole project can be divided into three main modules:the upper module is the control nodes of the network management module of OpenStack; The middle module is the ToR hardware architecture switch management module; The lower module is the calculation node management module.Then using the thought of software engineering, the three main modules have been designed and programmed. We have introduced the Mech Driver designing of the upper module, the ToR Agent designing of the middle module, and the OVS Agent of the lower module. These are the core technologies of this project. In order to reach the expected goal of realizing the optimization of network virtualization, we analyzed the interfaces of each module and then designed and rewritten.Finally, in order to realize the expected goal of realizing the optimization of network virtualization, we have tested the system with the integrated testing and the comparison and contrast analysis of system performance in many ways. The result of the testing showed that the optimization of network virtualization of OpenStack based on SDN(using the hardware switch supporting OpenFlow protocol) has been improved greatly. The bandwidth rate of the segments and cross-segment are both 896 Mbps, approaching the biggest bandwidth rate.The ultimate test and actual application have showed that this system has good interactivity, security and stability. And the performance has improved greatly than the original pure software system. It can meet the demands of most users.
