With the rapid development of the technology of information and network, the amount of network data which people need is increasing sharply, So that there is a greatly increasing need for the devices which can store quantities of network data. However, there are some limits to the most of the devices which can store network data, for instance, the capacity of the devices is not large enough, and the devices can not support network, and it is not easy to maintain the devices. Therefore, there is a high engineered applicable value of designing a device which can store quantities of network data.In order to meet the requirements of large capacity storage of network data, this paper has a research on the key technique of the Power PC electronic network storage arrays whose capacity is large. During the process of achieving the goals, there are some key techniques which include the communication of high-speed PCIe between internal storage arrays and external, the interface between the storage arrays and external redundancy network and the FTP server of files management in the storage arrays.Aiming at the key techniques of storage array,the main work of this paper is as follows:1. According to the practical demands, the whole designs of the storage arrays is completed which is based on the MPC8377 processor, and a statement is made that the storage arrays are composed of three components, which are management board, memory board and mother board.2. After having a research on PCIe technology of MPC8377 and the expansion of PCIe bus, a design program is completed which achieves the goal of the communication between a management board and several memory boards by a high speed PCIe, which are all in the storage arrays. At the same time, according to the PCIe communication program, the designs of software and hardware are detailedly illustrated.3. After having a research on the network module of the MPC8377, the transmission of network data which is in the storage arrays is completed, which is based on the transplantation the PHY network driver. Based on the accomplishment of transmission of network data, dual redundant network is designed and completed by using the methods of double PHY and CPLD.4. After having a research on the programming of Linux network and the principle of FTP protocol, and in accordance with the characteristics and requirements of file management which is in the storage arrays,a FTP server is designed and accomplished to suit the storage arrays.Finally, the transmission of PCIe data and network data, the switch of network and the FTP server are tested in this paper and the results show that the storage arrays can meet the design requirements.
