With the rapid development of computer science, semiconductor technology and power electronics technology, the embedded system which combines all of them has been widely used. From the early industrial control,digital home appliances, automobile and other fields to the current internet of things, wearable devices,intelligent terminal etc. The embedded system becomes more powerful and functional to satisfy all kinds of needs in different industry under the promotion of science and technology, and it plays a more important role in application.The embedded system is a special computer system that focuses on application functions. It is different from general purpose computer,but still computer system at all. They do have many features in common,such as depending on computer science, working under the cooperation of software and hardware.The main difference is that the design strategy of the embedded system is guided by its application, having to consider so many facts like the cost, consumption,and volume. The embedded system is designed to focus on its special functional rather than its general use in PC.The thesis describes an embedded system used to collect, store, transfer data and video of an special weapon device. We divide the whole system into three part according to the project requirement, a collecting and controlling device, a data sink and a light control device.The collecting and control device is the main part of the embedded system. It is the only part which will be put into the weapon set. Its function include data collection, data storage, wireless transmission, video recording, video transfer and light control.The data sink is used to receive the collected data sent by wireless transfer module in the collecting and controlling device. It will transfer the data to the PC by UART, and some special software will be used to analysis the data, that is about to help the worker to know what the weapon system's condition is. Besides, we also added light control function to this part.The light control device is the most simple part of the three. It is just designed to control the signal light, opening it or shutting it down, by the command received from the wireless transmission module.The embedded system described in the thesis is based on ARM Cortex-M set MCU, the MCU has many peripherals and interface, so we can easily use them to achieve all kinds of complex functions without many other devices, and this leads to improving system stability, reducing system complexity and the system cost.
