There are two different direction in the filed of digital image transmission, one islong-range narrow-band data transmission while another is short-range broadband videotransmission. However, increasing the transmission bandwidth and transmission distance isalways a pair of contradictions that can’t be both carried out. With the development ofmulti-media business, embedded system and wireless communication technologies,broadband remote image transmission has gradually become possible.This paper talks about the image collecting and processing and wireless communicationand designs a system of wireless transmission of images. On this basis, we use the ARM、theHD camera with the interface of USB and the wireless net-card as the hardware platform andthe Linux operating system as the software platform. At last, we will achieve the goal ofcollecting pictures and wireless transmission.This paper discusses the main task in the process of image acquisition and wirelesstransmission. Firstly, this paper particularly sets forth the development of image collectingand processing and wireless transmission. Secondly, this paper raises the overall design aboutthe system. Then this paper describes how to build the hardware and software platforms.Besides, this paper focus on talking about the principle of collecting pictures and the writingof application program, especially the image to read the memory mode selection, as well asthe set of image attributes and the principle of compressed image data and the achievement inthe system of Linux. According to the compare of result, this paper concludes that thecompressed image is easier to be transmitted. Then this paper talks about the principle ofwireless network communication combined with achieving the wireless transportation ofimages. Following, this paper compare the condition of rest with the condition of movement,and conclude the result of wireless transportation of images. At last, this paper talks about themain questions in the experiment and look into the distance about the following task.
