With the rapid development of communication services in recent years, construction scale of communication stations has been greatly expanded, as a result of which coordinated maintenance workload of the base stations become more strenuous. It is of great value in engineering to research the remote monitoring technology on power and environment system of communication stations, since traditional manual maintenance can no longer meet the requirements of modern communication due to its inability to detect and remove equipment failure timely.Main work and innovations are as follows:1.Prevalent maintenance and management of communication stations is analyzed,deficiencies of traditional manual maintenance are reviewed, and the overall framework of remote monitoring of communication station power and environment system is constructed which is comprised of power and environment equipment operation status signals detection units, spot general control device and remote monitoring platform and can realize remote monitoring and controlling of power and environment equipments operation.2.According to the actual operation status of the base station batteries, a high-precision cell voltage detection device is designed by the usage of sensor technology and digital circuit technology. The detection accuracy is guaranteed through components selection, sample principle research and anti-jamming structure. Compare to the experimental results, the detection error is within 0.2%.3.In order to meet the control requirements of different equipments in power and environment system, a novel spot general control device is designed through the qpplication of embedded and communications technology. The device can receive different detection signals of equipments in base station, and sent signals to the remote monitoring software system as well. Due to its plug and play construction, the monitored objects can be expanded dynamically. The communication reliability can be improved by adding a GPRS module as backup communication unit.4.By using the database and object-oriented technology, a C/S architecture remote monitoring software system is developed which can realize the unified management and maintenance of power and environment equipments in all of the base stations. Based on the operation status analysis of equipments, the system can sent the recommendation or alarm messages of equipment maintenance work effectively by the application of maintenance strategy and alert algorithm.The research results have been applicated in the part of the base stations of Xi'an Unicom.Practice has proved that the system can improve the base station management capacity effectively, enhance the equipments maintenance efficiency of the power and environment system and reduce operating costs.
