Narrative structures is one of the most important factors having impacts on documentary TV programs.They could provide great supports on narrative strategy of TV columns as well. Since 1990s,'documentary'came into people's sight as a crucial concept in the field of television industry in China. Based on this perception, most Chinese documentaries'modes are transferring from didactic to object. In other words, truths are the main chased purpose. Documentary TV programs are extract relevant material from daily life to enrich the creative products in this field.Taking documentary TV programs in China for example, they began to draw successful lessons from foreign relevant programs since 2000 so that more supports are given to development of domestic industry. The benefit of this shows on not only the diversity of documentary but also the long-term market impact, etc. In terms of the heated problems which deserved further discussions, how to make innovation and evolution of narrative structures will be one of the most urgent issues in this field.In this study, I would like to go deeper with the transmutation of narrative structures of documentary TV programs in China. According to the basic theories in narratologyin film and TV, communication, and some other relevant fields, this research will give more detail information based on a case study as BTV'Archives'.The 'Introduction's the theoretical foundation of this study. It contains background and significance of the research, some relevant concepts and literature review.The study then goes to the development situation of BTV'Archives'. It starts with the main concepts and features of the documentary TV programs. Also it mentions about the domestic archives documentary TV program's development and analyzes some existing problems. These provide evidences on the relationship between narrative structure and the homogenization of TV programs.The third chaptergives a clear comparison based on the narrative structure of BTV 'Archives'. This chapter explains the features of narrative structure of the case study 'Archives'into three different periods. Meanwhile, a comparison analysis is made between 'Big Secret'and'Archives'.The 'Conclusion'focuses on the transmutation results, the development of this column as well as the inspiration can be found according to this study in the related researches.Hopefully, this study could provide innovated ideas in the field of documentary TV column in China. If possible, this can help to accelerate the researches on reduction of homogeneity in domestic documentary television columns in China.
