RFID non-contact RF identification technology is developing rapidly in recent years and is regarded as one of the top ten key technologies in the 21 st century, it is with great potential being used in various applications of many fields. The read/write device is an important component in the hardware of the RFID communication system. And since the read/write device which works in ultra high frequency(UHF) band(860MHz~960MHz) has advantages such as long-distance reading/writting ability, high data transmission rate, short recognition time and large data volume, the UHF read/write device has been widely used.To meet specific requirements of the project, a UHF RFID read/write device based on a protocol integrated(low power consumption) chip is designed and implemented. In the read/write device, the protocol integrated chip AS3993 is selected for the RF transceiver module, the microcontroller PIC24FJ64GB002 for protocol control module and the ARM platform S3C2440 for display module. The schematic and the PCB of the RF transceiver module and the protocol control module are designed and implemented in hardware. And for the software part, the protocol firmware, the frequency hopping program, the anti-collision algorithm of dynamic and stochastic frame time slot, the configuration based on the USB interface and the application program based on the UART interface are realized. Then the time domain waveform and frequency spectrum of the emission signal are measured and analized separately. The function test with actual tags verifies the inventory, reading and writing abilities of the UHF read/write device which meet the requirements of the project.The read/write device conforms to the ISO/IEC 18000-6 Type C protocol. It'll hop in the Chinese national standard frequency band when power on. With the advantages of low power consumption, miniaturization, low cost, stable working performance and good display interface, it is suitable for inventory management, library management, archives management and other occasions.
