RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology is mainly used in non-contact objectsidentification based on radio frequency electromagnetic theory. It has the advantages of non-contactcommunicating, easy to read and write data, high communicating speed and good in data security.Working with no environmental limits, RFID technology can automatically identify andcommunicate with tags by sending and receiving RF electromagnetic waves. Because of these,RFID is widely used in logistics industry and traffic management. As a key module, the tag-reader plays a very important role in the whole RFID system. Thisthesis designs a UHF RFID system's baseband part according to the ISO/IEC 18000-6C protocol onS3C2440A chips. S3C2440A chips'ARM920t core, which works at 400MHz and has a stable dataprocessing capability, can meet this design's demands. This thesis'main tasks are:Ⅰ. According to the ISO/IEC 18000-6C protocol, choosing the proper coding/decoding methodsand telecommunicating parameters, proposing the design scheme of the PIE coding module, FM0decoding module and the CRC-5/CRC-16 module.Ⅱ. Setting S3C2440A chips'working parameters of the CPU, TIMER, GPIO and UART,realizing the design scheme with C-Language in the ADS1.2 environment.Ⅲ. Testing the reader-tags communication functions realized on the chips. The test results show that the new FM0 decoding algorithm this thesis proposes worksefficiently and the reader-tags'communication functions act well.
