Obtaining The Data Of Learning Experience Based On The XAPI Specification

With the rapid rise of online learning and mobile learning,research in the field of education is also facing increasing challenges.There are more powerful impact on the research of education data by the era of big data.The rapid development of the Internet provides a strong pillar for people's learning.After several different stages of development,online learning has generated different online learning standards,such as the SCORM standard.But after some years of development and research,these have been widely used standards have been appeared weakness.Although they have made a significant contribution to the online learning.The American Advanced Distributed Learning Organization has released a new learning standard-xAPI specification.The xAPI can record any form of learning experience,in order to meet the more diverse learning styles.And also can make up the defect of old standard,such as sharing data across platforms.The xAPI uses its own data format to record the learning experience datas and store them to the Learning Record Store(LRS),where learners can share their learning experiences.In the learning process has produced a lot of learning data.In addition to explore the potential value of education by using the big data mining technology,we can also make recommendations for them according to the learner's learning history.These recommendations are relevant to the history of learner's learning,and allow learners to expand their learning areas and consolidate their knowledge better.In view of this,we track the learners' s experience data and record the data in LRS.Then we can analyze the data to make recommendations for the learners.In this paper the main work are as follows:1.The introduction of xAPI and its advantages.The xAPI specification is the new learning record standard,which known as the next generation of SCORM standards.There are some advantages in terms of application.Compared with the previous standard,there is a breakthrough in network demand,cross platform,the environment information of mobile learning,and so on.Its data structure contains more context information,and can implement offline learning effectively.Moreover,it is platform independent.2.The construction of LRS.LRS is the abbreviation of the Learning Record Store,which is a repository for storing learning experience data.Some foreign companies have provided free LRS online,which can store learning data directly.In this thesis we build a learning record store by ourselves,and use it to store the learner's experience data.3.The application of xAPI in mobile learning.The xAPI specification is still in its infancy on application,especially in the mobile learning.By obtaining the user's learning data in Yibi,we use the data to provide recommendations.This thesis completes the applied of xAPI.Then achieve the acquisition of experience data in mobile learning,and to provide recommendations for users.
