| With the development of knowledge-based economy,teaching reform is happening all over China.In order to change with time and improve this reform,many high schools have been changing their traditional teaching methods,which is required by the New Curriculum Reform.In the reform,self-study is becoming popular as a result of its unique advantages and appears in Politics classes around China.Self-study agrees with the law of students’ cognizance,makes students study by themselves better,motivates students’ interest in Politics and cause students to have the ability to innovate and think dependently.However,during the class,many problems need to be resolved because of the traditional teaching ideas,existence of students in different level in the same class and the misunderstanding of politics.In this article,I will discuss Self-study in three aspects:importance,problems and solutions.First,the significance of self-study.To begin with,students’ studying ability can be improved.After adding this part in class,students can join in different discussions regardless of their studying level.Besides,their critical thinking ability can be promoted.When studying by themselves,students can think of those problems alone,which can help them get into good habits of studying.They can also think critically to those problems.Second,the problems appear in the process of self-study.To begin with,efficiency is not brilliant,class schedule will be affected.Some students are not willing to join in self-study,which is time consuming and less efficient.Besides,activities in class are more formal than realistic.In classes,teachers arrange many activities for students to join in,which makes the class seem to be lively.However,it’s not useful or helpful.Finally,student’s learning methods haven’t been changed.Finally,the measures which can be taken to solve these problems.To begin with,students should get into good learning habits.Besides,we should take actions to improve students’ critical thinking ability.Students should be encouraged to blame,to doubt and to criticize.In this way,students will be innovative in the future.Third,teaching concept and learning methods should be changed.With the hard work between students and teachers,self-study in politics courses will be effective in high school,especially in politics classes. |
