Ideological and political courses in senior high school are thought to be the main channel of Marxist ideological and political education along with civic and moral education for teenagers.Such courses play a profound role in fostering in teenagers the morally sound values and outlook on the world and life.Unfortunately,the existence of an increasing number of high-school students with learning difficulties in politics has exerted a negative influence on improving the quality of political teaching and the quality of students’ ideological and ethical level.Thus,it is of far-reaching significance to speed up the study of the transformation of high-school students with learning difficulties in politics.While quality education is designed for all students,it is still very much alive that politics teachers in high school tend to focus on top students and overlook students with learning difficulties in response to examination-oriented education,causing students with learning difficulties in politics to produce mental disorders such as school-weary psychology,self-abased psychology and rebellious attitude.On the basis of investigation and teaching practice,the author concludes that the existence of such students is mainly due to their cognitive deviation concerning the subject of politics,the lack of teachers’ personality charm,the theoretical and abstract teaching material,and negative influence of one-way infusion teaching mode,etc.Furthermore,the author puts forward the suggestion that the appreciation education is an effective way to transform such students.Characteristic of subjectivity,otherness,and incentive,appreciation education is based on reinforcement theory,need theory,expectancy theory and the theory of multiple intelligences.Depending on showing respect and trust for students with learning difficulties,appreciation education fully explores their sparkle and gives timely praise,enabling them to overcome psychological barriers,stimulating learning motivation,and eventually achieving the goal of transformation.It is not only a necessity in forming a healthy personality among students,but also an important means of establishing a good relationship between teachers and students.According to the practical application of appreciation education among high school students with learning difficulties,the author recommends a communication bridge with love in order to overcome such students’ psychological barrier.Also,appreciation education concept should be advocated and teachers’ personality charm should be shaped.Furthermore,it is critical to mine the recognition factor in teaching material in order to optimize classroom teaching.It is also crucial to adopt countermeasures such as hierarchical classification method and the teaching pattern of mutual interaction.The author highlights some problems involving the application appreciation education concept.It is the sincere hope that the research can act as an effective reference for the applying appreciation education to transformation of high school students with learning difficulties in politics.
