Playfulness is one of the personal qualities,playing an important role in the future life of young children,and thus the researchers always pay attention to the playfulness of the children during the.kindergarten daily life.However,the researches mainly focus on the group instructions and the zone activities,while the playfulness of the young children during the listening-speaking games has rarely been reported so far.As the most common language teaching game,which is popular with young children,the behavior of the children in playfulness determines the quality of the classes.Hence,with the listening-speaking games as the examples here,the behavior of the young children in playfulness during various listening-speaking games is investigated.This work may be helpful in comprehending the true nature of the playfulness for the young children in the listening-speaking games.Via the non-participant observation,this work has observed 192 children(5~6 years)in the listening-speaking games,half boys and half girls.The children are from the eight top-year classes of the four typical kindergartens in K city,and organized by eight new teachers and eight older teachers respectively.According to the revised “Observation Scale for Playfulness of the Children(5~6 years)in the Listening-Speaking Games”,the behavior of the children in playfulness are rated.Further evaluation on the overall performance of the 192 children and the exploration on the difference derived from the teachers of different types bring the conclusions as follows:1.The overall performance of the children in playfulness during the listening-speaking games is above the medium level,while the performance of the children organized by older teachers is slightly better than that by new teachers.2.In terms of gender,boys and girls were more likely to have both overall and average scores than girls,but the gender differences were not significant.3.Further dimensionality analysis suggests that the body spontaneity,the cognizance spontaneity,and the evident happiness are above the medium level,while the social spontaneity,the sense of humor are below the medium level.Except the social spontaneity,the performance of the children in other dimensionalities for the older teachers is slightly better than that for the new teachers.Based on the results mentioned above,several suggestions are put forward to improve the playfulness of the children in the listening-speaking lessons:1.Check the present perception on the playfulness: maintain the balance of the teaching and the games,further recognize the experience of the children in playfulness,and appropriately adjust the role of the teacher in listening-speaking lessons.2.Design the listening-speaking games based on the right game perception: various games are needed and should be well arranged,the purpose of the designed games should be clear,the interaction between the teacher and the children should be in a relaxing way,and the discipline of the games should be flexible.3.Rethink the implementation effect timely: observe the behavior of the children in the listening-speaking games,exchange the ideas with workmates or thespecialists,and improve the game process continually.
