In the Chinese textbooks of junior middle school,the ancient novels occupy a certain proportion.It is not only an important part in the reading instruction of junior Chinese,but also a model works to cultivate the students' aesthetic ability.Through the study of ancient novels,it not only can provide convenience for the students to understand the ancient Chinese society and history,but also can help the student to learn cultural spirit in the ancient novels and feel its unique aesthetic features.Therefore,the ancient novels have more teaching value.Because of the longer length of the ancient novels,it mainly appears in the form of excerpts in the junior Chinese textbooks.As a part of the original works,the texts of ancient novels in the textbooks have a certain peculiarity.Although they seem to be the independent texts,actually they have close relationship with the original works.As a consequence,in order to make the students to understand and enjoy the ancient novels,appropriately contacting with the original works or reading them in the teaching processes of ancient novels texts is very reasonable.This paper mainly starts from the teaching status of the ancient novels and discusses the teaching in depth.First of all,it sorts out the existing problems in the ancient novels teaching at present.Secondly,it analyzes features of the selections and puts forward the fundamental basis of teaching content of the ancient novels by counting the quantity of the selected ancient novels from the PEP Edition,BSDSX Edition and Hubei Education Edition,which combines the related requests of the Chinese courses standards and bases on the text resources of the Chinese textbooks.Finally,it comes up with the relevant teaching strategies combining with the teaching status and content of the ancient novels.It expects to motivate the student's interests in learning the ancient novels and improve their aesthetic ability.
