This study analyzes the playfulness performances of children in block play by using quantitative research methods.First of all,the study revises "Children's Playfulness Scale" edited by Bamett(Bamett,1991).Then we use "Children's Playfulness Scale in Block Play" as an observation tool to make assessment to 96 children's playfulness in block play.Samples come from 24 block plays of B Kindergarten in A Province.Among the children,there are 32 from primary class,32 from middle class and 32 from top class.The gender ratio is 1:1.Through the statistics analysis by SPSS 24.0,the researcher gets the following conclusions:In terms of overall,the children's playfulness in block play is a little bit above a moderate level."Social Spontaneity" scored the highest level and "Sense of Humor"scored the lowest level.In terms of gender and age difference,the difference between boys and girls in each dimension and overall playfulness is not obvious,except for "Appear Excited".The children's playfulness in block play generally raises following the increase of age.There are obvious differences among each age group.The researcher further analyzes main factors which influence the children's playfulness in block play and puts forward educational suggestions in three aspects:Change the traditional education concept and strengthen the attention to children's playfulness;Create a comfortable psychological atmosphere in block play to enhance children's pleasantness experience;Develop a good habit of daily observation and self-reflection to improve guiding strategies in block play.
