In children's block building play, imitation is one of the fundamental modes, which promote children's development and enhance the level of the play. In this research, questionnaire survey procedure, method of inspection and work analytic method are used, to understand the block building games in kindergarten and baby's simulation build behavior. The results show that: teachers' emphasis on children's block building and teachers'capacity of guiding block play are relatively low; Children's observational learning ability, spatial thinking and representation will affect the level of block building; Children's building level has the remarkable enhancement along with the age. The middle class children develop quicker than others; in imitation, the quantity of blocks and time spent increases along with the age, which presents remarkable related with children's play level; children of different sex does not have significant difference in imitation building.The study therefore suggests that kindergarten should pay attention to block building play, increase the block building materials and enhance teacher's ability to guide the play; provide appropriate imitation reference for children of different ages; use different types of reference to develop children's cognitive capacity; provide more building blocks and longer time along with children's growth; provide the same opportunity of building play for both boys and girls.
