In recent years, early childhood education increasingly focuses on the study of playfulnesss. It has been studied that children’s playfulness in group mathematics teaching activities, mathematical area activities and sports game. Playfulness gradually produced over a long period of play activity. The types of play activities affect children’s play behavior and manifestation. In order to expand the research area further, the researcher chooses to study children’s playfulness manifestations, gender differences and age differences in sand play, which arises outdoor autonomously and creatively.This study analyzes the children’s playfulness in different age classes of three public kindergartens in G zone, by using a combination of quantitative research and qualitative research methods. We conducted a month observation by using non-participation method, and collected a total of 30 video samples of 107 children’s playfulness manifestations in sand play. According to observation situation and expert advice, the research tool is revised on the basis of the "Children Playfulness Scale", which reliability and validity is confirmed well.The data received in the study was undertaken the statistical analysis by using SPSS 19.0, and the playfulness of 107 preschool children in sand play overall is above middle level. The difference between female children and male children is not significant in overall playfulness and all the five dimensions. As children grow older, the playfulness of children in sand play gradually arises. There were significant differences between the primary class children’s social spontaneity and the top class children’s social spontaneity. The researcher conducted a three-point discussion. First, children’s creativity manifestations are below middle level that is inconsistent with sand play’s value. This phenomenon is related with two factors:sand play’s current situation in Kindergartens and research tool. Second, children’s sense of humor in different activities is low. And children’s capacity of creating humor is significantly lower than their capacity of understanding humor and coping humor. But children create humorous atmosphere by external behavior and make others smiling and laughing. The difference of children’s humor level is obvious. Finally, children hand fine action is below middle level, related with kindergartens’understanding and locating of the value of sand play. we analyze the possible reason of the phenomenon and make some suggestions from two part of kindergarten and preschool children.
