Block play is one of children's favorite activities, and it possess important values toward their learning and developmental process.Despite the addition of ancillary materials post certain effective assistants on the activity, during practical operation of kinder-gartening,the tutors hold their reservations toward such practice. In regard of the question, this research has adopted the method of one factor analysis of variance,by observing 20 middle grade children during the block play activity, groups of the children's block construction pieces built under the influence of a different singular factor were analyzed The conditions of the activity were set for the children as such:blocks were provided to the children without ancillary materials, blocks were provided with only the addition of traffic theme materials, blocks were provided with only the addition of forest theme materials and blocks were provided with only materials of human characters. The analysis concludes the data of the total amount of the blocks used in each condition, the selections of types of the blocks, the amount of pieces created, the amount of blocks used in each individual piece of work, pieces' themes distribution, patterns of presentation and the way that block construction skills take influence. The study offered such results:1.Under the influence of different ancillary materials, the total quantity of blocks used by the children had significant variance. The amount of block usage reached maximum when no ancillary materials were provided.2.Under the influence of different ancillary materials, the variety of blocks used by the children had significant variance. The children used all 19 types of blocks when no ancillary materials were provided3.Under the influence of different ancillary materials, the amount of block construction pieces produced by the children had no significant variance.4.Under the influence of different ancillary materials, the amount of blocks used in each piece had no significant variance.5.Under the influence of different ancillary materials, the distribution of themes had significant variance. When provided with the ancillary materials of transportations, pieces about car tracks, bridges and other traffic related themes tend to appear more frequent. When provided with ancillary materials about forest, animal related pieces tend to appear more frequent. When provided with the ancillary materials of people, pieces about residences tend to appear more frequent.6.Under the influence of different ancillary materials, patterns of presentation had no significant variance.7.Under the influence of different ancillary materials, the skill levels of block construction had variance. The skill level of construction was highest when no ancillary materials were provided. The skill level of construction was the lowest when the children were provided with traffic theme ancillary materials.Researchers also discovered that different types of ancillary materials acted on as guidance for children with their work pieces.Under the influence of traffic theme ancillary materials, the pieces of block construction revolve around traffic related scenarios such as roads, bridges and parking lots.Under the influence of forest theme ancillary materials, the scenery of the constructed pieces tend to be relevant to zoos, wildlife reserves, forest and animal hospitals.Children have highest level of performance in quality of work and quantity of block usage without the assistance of ancillary materials.Researchers suggest that tutors choose ancillary materials reasonably according to the children's different level of constructing skills. Also, they can provide combinations of different ancillary materials to reflect real life situations while tending to the children's original learning experiences. In conclusion, ancillary materials can inspire children's construction work pieces scenery to revolve around the themes of the ancillary materials provided, creating abundance in their constructional works which reflect both real and hypothetical life scenario while causing a decrease in the level of constructional skills.
