Guided by Curriculum Standard,the senior high school history textbooks have been edited according to the principle of “one standard and more versions.” The prevailing four editions are PEP edition,Yuelu edition,PP edition and BNUP edition.The first three editions are the most popular and widespread ones.Different editions have their own merits,so the difference between them can make great contributions to comparative studies and the development of textbooks.Comparative studies on the secondary school history textbooks began with comparisons between Chinese textbooks and the foreign ones;then,gradually,comparative studies on textbooks used in Hong Kong,Taiwan and Mainland China,on new and old editions,on different editions used in Mainland China emerged.Few academic achievements in relation to comparative studies on “Art History”in different editions have been made,most of which are attribute to the experience of secondary school teachers,and the topics mainly relate to holistic grasp on teaching of “Art History,” teaching methods,and teaching mistakes.In addition to this,some scholars have done research and resource integration on this subject.“Art History” is very meaningful for realizing the value of history education and culturing the key quality of the subject of history.Meanwhile,due to its implicit historical and cultural characteristics,ancient Chinese art plays an important part in culturing students' aesthetic taste,consciousness of homeland and national identity.Looking into the prevailing curriculum standard of the senior high school history and the new curriculum standard in progress,one can tell that “Ancient Chinese Art” is of great value.So it is imperative to conduct comparative studies on it and put forward suggestions on the usage of textbooks and teaching.“Ancient Chinese Art” in the tree editions are of difference in terms of structures,content and notes,and each has its pros and cons.The PEP edition concentrates on concise narration and brief summary,but the passages of which are vague and general.The PP edition emphasizesexpanding widely and selecting knowledge points specifically,but some of its passages are excessively technical and scattered.The Yuelu edition is famous for its rich pictures and readings and its vivid narrations,but it shows a vague knowledge web which is not so systematic.So when selecting and using textbooks,teachers should pay attention to integrating clues,making a valuable use of the textbooks,and selecting subjects and passages reasonably according to the curriculum standard.During the process of specific teaching,teachers should understand the development of art history from a historical perspective,concentrate on culturing the core quality of the subject,determine aims of teaching,realize the spirit value of the teaching of “Ancient Chinese Art,” heighten students' participation and design demonstrations relating to teachings.
