Square fitness exercise dance is a kind of fitness exercise program which is easy to learn,and has considerably good effect.The main participation crowd is made up of middle-aged and old women.With the in-depth development of the sport,and the expansion of the coverage,square fitness exercise dance has become the most preferred choice among the folk sports events.In China,the central and local governments begin to attach great importance to the standardization,expansibility,and scientificalness of the square fitness exercise dance,so that the governments have gradually introduced a series of activities and initiatives.At the same time,along with the output of the Chinese culture,this event emerges and develops in more and more foreign countries.The main purpose of this study is to observe the group of elder women to explore the indicators in health fitness,as well as to examine the changes of individual psychology in the process of the square fitness exercise dance.Therefore,this study provides theoretical basis for more people who want to participate in the square fitness exercise dance.Moreover,this study gives suggestions and countermeasures to the governments,communities,streets and other related functional departments,which helps to better guide the public to be involved in.As a result,this study produced a more healthy and orderly improvement of the square fitness exercise dance.This study facilitated the literature material method,experimental method,questionnaire survey method,qualitative method and mathematical statistics method.With 50 middle-aged and old women from different districts in Shanghai as the researching objects,this study divided them into two groups: experimental group and the control group of each of 25 people.The research intervened the experimental group for 24 weeks,while the control group conducted regular life.Finally this study collected the physiological indexes data from the before and after experiments(the control group and experimental group)to analyze the aspects of body shape,function index and body composition in health fitness.Paired variance T Test method was used to analyze the collected data,and to draw a conclusion.In the psychological aspect,by analyzing the questionnaire data and examining the semi-structured interview,the study also intended to find out what psychological effects were exerted by the square fitness exercise in the targeted group.It was indicated that,after 24 weeks,there was obvious difference for the experimental group in vital capacity(ml),WHR,body fat rate(%),basal metabolism,grip strength(N)in succession,crook proneness(cm),eyes-closed standing on one foot(s),quadrant jump(s),and other data(p < 0.05).Especially,the data on weight(kg)and BMI(p < 0.01)were significantly different,however,the data in height and fat were of small differences(p > 0.05).At the psychological level,the square fitness exercise dance had a positive impact on the personal emotions,identity,interpersonal,and etc.of the middle-aged and old women.After the 24-week exercises,the experimental group of the middle-aged and old women all felt themselves in a considerably better condition.At the same time,they also felt fonderof life and sports.Furthermore,they possessed better moods,and became even more pleased about their body and figure,which made them more confident and open to communication.In the face of life,they had more positive attitudes.The results of the research showed that the square fitness exercise dance indeed built up the body of the middle-aged and old women,making their life more colorful.It not only made their body become better,but also could increase their self-confidence and make them receive more praise.Moreover,it could help them own a more positive and optimistic state of mind to enjoy life.Square fitness exercise dance made the body of the middle-aged and old female become better.Meanwhile,it also broadened their social circle.In psychological aspect,square fitness exercise dance helped them to become more optimistic,positive,confidence,and more devoted to exercises.This would help them maintain longer exercising habits.Also it contributed to build a bridge between health and exercise to set the formation of long-term virtuous cycle.
