Teaching target settings occupy a fundamental position in teaching activities. Clear and reasonable teaching targets provide a prerequisite for the success of subsequent activities. Teachers should study teaching target settings and distinguish teaching targets as well as some related concepts in order to exert their important functions in teaching activities. Teaching target settings of classical Chinese, which account for half of teaching steps, however, seem to partly go wrong. This causes classical Chinese teaching to plod with hardship. This paper aims to explore the specific problems which occur in teaching target settings in senior high school, analyze the causes under the theory of new curriculum standard, and then seek corresponding solutions. The author looks forward to providing Chinese teachers in senior high school with some useful references about classical Chinese teaching.
