The Study Of Network Group Polarization

Network Group Polarization refers to existing tendency strengthened by the interaction between hot spots of society and public opinion on the Internet. It has its positive side, such as promote the consistency of group opinion, and enhance the group cohesion. But during social transformation of China, the civic participation mechanism in politics is imperfect? There is more negative impact of group polarization. Thus,this study attempts to explore the connotation and generating mechanism of group polarization of network public opinion network in china completely and specifically, then proposes suggestions to lead network public opinion develop optimistically.First of all, this study analyzes current situation of network public opinion in china and classifies domestic and foreign academic papers of network public opinion as well as making related definition about group polarization of network public opinion clearly.In addition, it takes “Group Event in Shishou City of Hubei Province” and “5-2-6Drag Racing Incident in Shenzhen” as example to analyze the attitude transformation of network group and explores the polarization process in this events. Based on the new behaviorist Edward Chase Tolman's S-O-R psychological model of, it concludes S-C-R-P model of group polarization, namely, stimulation, social cognition, reinforcement and polarization subsequently.Finally, this study takes the previous ‘5-2-6Drag Racing Incident in Shenzhen' case again to discuss the negative influence and dispelling measures of group polarization of network public opinion, therefore, in the perspective of government as the main responsibilities, it propose following suggestions:(1)Government should strengthen monitor stimulation of network public opinion, master the characteristics of group polarization of network public opinion initiatively and discover as well as control the group polarization as soon as possible;(2)It also need to rebuild credibility and social cognition of government, which should promote the public information frequently;(3) Government is required to guide and develop opinion leader, especially in the network group and media, to dispel group polarization promptly and restrain the polarized behavior of network group effectively.
