Taking Hillsmeade Primary School as an example, the paper analyzes Chinese teaching practice, according to the Australian Curriculum(Chinese).Firstly, the paper introduced and analyzed Australian Curriculum(Chinese), and found that language for interpreting teching content has the feature of commonality; but the explaination for teaching content is not quite instructive; the teaching content is not easy to be classified. Then, the paper analyzed Chinese lesson plans according to the Curriculum(Chinese). Even though Chinese lesson plans were designed according to the Curriculum, some problems still exist. For example, language elements teaching cannot meet the achievement standards in the Curriculum; the choice of teaching content has great randomness, etc. And next, the paper analyzed Chinese lass teaching in Hillsmeade PS, according to Chinese lesson plans, and found that teaching sequences could hardly be implemented in class teaching; the teaching content is not quite proper, which had negative effects on class teaching; learning obejectives were hardly to be achieved in Chinese class teaching.At last, the paper offers suggestions for public primary schools in Australia to develop Chinese teaching, including using Australian Curriculum(Chinese) properly, to choose teaching content; making lesson plans properly and implementing class teaching effectively.This paper take one primary school as an example to analyze for the expectation of making some new discoveries and views. For the limitation of this paper, Australian Curriculum(Chinese) is not studied and analyzed quite detailed. Moreover, case analysis cannot fully reflect Chinese teaching in public primary schools in Australia, which is a inadequacy of this paper, we are looking forward to more comprehensive and further exploration and study.
