Abroad, more and more primary and secondary schools offer Chinese language courses, the object oflearning Chinese overseas showing a trend of younger age, and some schools and even kindergartens havebeen set up Chinese language courses. Chinese as a Foreign Language Teaching and Research beforemostly adult subjects, for the study of children and adolescents rarely. In view of this, I take advantage ofthe opportunity to visit friends in Australia, surveys and studies on Chinese language teaching situation inseveral primary and secondary schools in Australia. Though visiting classes, searching the literature, gatherinformation and talk with local teachers and students, and more in-depth understanding of the situation ofChinese language teaching in primary and secondary schools in Australia is now. In the course of lectures, Ideeply feel different local native teacher and Native Chinese teacher teaching philosophy and teachingmethods. Native Chinese teacher because of the influence of traditional Chinese education, Chineselanguage teaching classroom with distinct Chinese characteristics: teacher to impart knowledge, speakmore, turn out to be less, and the design of classroom activities is less and monotonous, the purpose is tosentence drills and increased classroom fun. Local Chinese teachers teach very little knowledge of grammarand sentence structure, the proportion of classroom activities accounted for a large proportion, so that theyconsciously learned Chinese words practice. Seemingly the classroom is very casual, in fact, very richlearning content capacity. The Classroom Record of the local Chinese language teachers for us to show thecharacteristics of the primary school Chinese language teaching in Australia, will give teachers interested inthe devotion to the cause of overseas Chinese as a foreign language teaching some inspiration andreference.
