Study On The Application Of Webquest In Junior High School Geography Teaching

Information technology has brought revolutionary changes to the education.Educators are actively seeking ways to promote the deep integration of information technology and curriculum,geography educators are not excepting.Webquest is a mode of inquiry learning which based on internet resources,it organically combines the network with the inquiry learning.On the teaching activities,teacher instructs the student to carry on the group cooperation study. The application of Webquest in junior high school geography teaching,provides a new way of thinking and a broad space for improving the teaching methods and the teaching effect.First, this study reviews the domestic and foreign research about WebQuest,including the application of Webquest in various disciplines and on different study periods, and summarizes the application status of Webquest in geography teaching.Then it analyzes the necessity of applying Webquest to the geography teaching and the conditions to be considered before implementation.According to the teaching design principles of Webquest, "natural disaster" is chosen as the theme of practice.The teaching experiment is carried out in two parallel classes, one class is the experimental class, adopting Webquest teaching mode, the other class is the comparative class, adopting traditional teaching mode.Through classroom tests,questionnaires, interviews to verify the effect on geography teaching, and found that the geography teaching based on webquest has good teaching effect:(1)After the experiment, the test scores of the experimental class were significantly higher than that of the comparative class;(2)The geography study interest of the student has been improved, and the study attitude has been changed;(3)Students hold positive attitude towards cooperative learning;(4)Application of WebQuest for geography teaching can exercise the student's computer operation ability and geography information ability.Finally, it lists the problems found in the teaching practice, and puts forward the corresponding solutions, which can provide reference for the application of Webquest in geography teaching..
