There is a high correlation between students' classroom engagement and their academic achievement,social interaction and work performance.Student who has the low classroom engagement may perform truancy and have more risky behavior,which make classroom engagement attract many educators and experts.Investors in their investigation articulate their different opinions regarding: the concept of classroom engagement,the structure of classroom engagement,the measurements,the difference between indicators and influential factors,the difference between indicators and outcome factors.In recent years,it is clear that there are several conceptualizations of student engagement,from those that are very narrow to those that are quite broad.A lack of definitional clarity has hindered efforts to synthesize results of studies,understand effects of interventions,and more accurately detail what is needed in future research.the engagement subtype should be specified,which is important to clarify in research.The overlap between engagement and motivation remains murky in measurement.Researchers must not only define student engagement but use measures that get thestudents' degree of classroom engagement.student engagement lies in gaining further evidence over time about the interaction of different influential factors.Student engagement is best understood when contextualized;therefore,researchers must specify information about the learning,school,or family context under study.Last,it is still need further analysis the indirect effect between s personal motive factors and environment factors.Based on the analysis of former researches,this paper adopting questionnaires and data analysis focus on 3 researches: first,the development of middle school students ‘classroom engagement questionnaire;secondly,the research on classroom engagement influential factors;third,the effect of classroom atmosphere on students' classroom engagement-self: efficiency' mediating effect.These researches make the following conclusions:Student's classroom engagement is a multiple concept,which contains recognition engagement,emotional engagement and behavioral engagement.Middle school students ‘classroom engagement questionnaire has high reliability and validity,which makes it become an effective tool in measurement of degree of student's classroom engagement.The positive correlations between Student's classroom engagement and environmental factors,such as: teacher-students relationship?peers relationship and parents support,are notable.The positive correlations between Student's classroom engagement and personal motivation factors,such as: self efficiency?learning goals?performance approach goal?performance avoidance goal and attribution,are notable.Student's classroom engagements are different in different classroom environment.Students who have a positive perception of classroom environment have higher classroom engagement.Students who have a negative perception of classroom environment have lower classroom engagement.Personal motivation factors have indirect effect(mediation effect)on the relation between environmental factors.As it concludes,Self efficiency has a full mediator effect in relation between teacher-students relationship and emotional engagement;Self efficiency has a full mediator effect in relation between peer relationship and emotional engagement;Self efficiency has a partial mediator effect in relation between teacher-students relationship and recognition engagement;Self efficiency has a partial mediator effect in relation between peer relationship and recognition engagement;Self efficiency has a partial mediator effect in relation between teacher-students relationship and behavioral engagement;Self efficiency has a partial mediator effect in relation between peer relationship and behavioral engagement.
