Research On Study Efficiency Of Biology And The Relevant Factors Among The Senior School Students In Shanghai, Hubei, Hunan

The essence of teaching is that the student can learn efficiently, and this is the necessary need of education development. Improving the study efficiency will not only make student study easier, but also improve the life-long study of students themselves. So improving the study efficiency should be one of the core concerns of education reform.This research tries to investigate the student study efficiency of biology by sample analysis in order to help student realize and want to improve their study efficiency. Meanwhile analysis the differences among the different schools, provide the improving opinion and make reference to teacher for their class teaching and to student for their more efficient study in biology.Based on the study material borrowed from the research fruit both from home and abroad and considered the practice teaching situation in our country, a questionnaire of biology study efficiency was made. The questionnaire included the investigation in study efficiency and the impact factors on the efficiency. Among them, impact factor are metacognition, study strategy, the student's non-intelligence factor, the student study of objective environment, and the student' s comprehensive ability.This research selected totally five schools from three different regions in our country and carried on a sampling comparison in order to analysis the study efficiency of biology. The schools included: Shanghai demonstrate senior school, Shanghai non-demonstrate senior school, Shanghai comprehensive school, key senior school in Hubei province, key senior school in city of Hunan province. Choosing the students from the five schools as research sample and making the comparisons among different schools aim to make the reference and opinion to students for their life-long study, and to teachers for their teaching efficiency.By research, we get the conclusion as follow: (1) study efficiency of Biology in our country are present in normal curve. And the study efficiency of shanghai senior school students are better than the student in Hubei and Hunan province. (2) The differences among the academics of student study, academics of biology, category favor of students and gender are all have significant differences in study efficiency of Biology. (3)There are positive relations between biology study efficiency and the impact factors. These factors are: metacognition, study strategy, the student's non-intelligence factor, the student study of objective environment. (4)In metacognition aspect, key senior school in Hubei province , Shanghai non-demonstrate senior school, Shanghai demonstrate senior school had high scores, and Shanghai comprehensive school had the lowest score. (5)In study strategy aspect, Shanghai demonstrate senior school, Shanghai non-demonstrate senior school had high scores, and Shanghai comprehensive school had the lowest score. (6) In objective environment aspect, Shanghai non-demonstrate senior school, Shanghai demonstrate senior school, had high scores, and Shanghai comprehensive school had the lowest score. (7)In non-intelligence factor aspect, key senior school in Hubei province had the highest scores, while Shanghai comprehensive school had the lowest score.According to the analysis results, several suggestions are given as follow: (l)The teachers should help students set up a positive attitude towards the study efficiency, and improve their metacognition and realization in study efficiency. Meanwhile, according to the impact factors on study efficiency, the teachers can arrange well of the class teaching and home work assignment. Through the teaching process, let students be the own master of study, and experience the study process their selves. On another hand, the teacher can be a model who uses the study strategies in teaching, and graduate, students will learn to use the study strategies. (2)Students should learn to summary their own characters in study, set up the positive attitude, learn to manage the time. And improve the concentration during study so as to promote non- intelligence factor. (3)School and family should help to build a sound study environment for student. The teacher should know about the family environment of the students, and this can be done by interviewing to student' s home or by telephone.
