At the present time, most Chinese teachers in Senior High Schools apply a traditional and dull teaching method to teach English grammar. This traditional teaching mode is teacher-centered, and only focuses on teachers' teaching rather than students' learning. It attaches great importance to transferring knowledge, neglecting students' motivation and interest. Students' performance in the classroom is very passive. Their participation in the learning process is restricted and their enthusiasm is very low. Concerning this situation, this article aims to apply the Flipped Classroom Teaching Modeto teach English grammar in Senior High School, in order to solve the problems existing in traditional teaching mode. Flipped Classroom involves reversing the order of knowledge transference and knowledge internalization; planning the time in class again and changing the roles of teachers and students. After consulting the successful experience of Flipped Classroom Teaching Modeand typical patterns at home and abroad, this paper employs the theory of constructivism, humanism learning theory and cognitive learning theory as the theoretical basis, and applies literature method, experimental method, questionnaire and interviews during the research procedure. The author carried out the experiment for 19 weeks in the first half of 2015. And the students who take part in the experiment come from Class 9 and 10, Grade two in Qingdao No.17 Middle School. This study attempts to answer the following four questions:(1) Can Flipped Classroom Teaching Modeimprove students' learning enthusiasm and initiative?(2) Can Flipped Classroom Teaching Modeimprove students' autonomous learning ability?(3) Can Flipped Classroom Teaching Modeimprove students' academic achievements as well as their comprehensive ability to use English?(4) What are the advantages and difficulties of applying Flip Classroom teaching mode to teach English grammar in Senior High School? How to solve these problems? The author carried out an empirical study in Qingdao No.17 Senior High School and took 120 students from two parallel classes as the research subjects, and then randomly selected one class from the two as the experimental class. The author did the experiment for 19 weeks in the first half of 2015. The author conducted a pre-test at the beginning to testify whether there existed any differences in the two classes' grammatical competence. Test results showed that there was no significant difference in the two classes. At the end of the semester, the author conducted another test. By analyzing the scores and the data, the author found that the scores in the experimental class were higher than those in the comparative class. That is to say: Flipping Classroom Teaching Mode can improve students' comprehensive ability to use English grammar. The author sent questionnaires to the students in the experimental class. The results show that Flipped Classroom Teaching Modehas a good effect on improving students' learning enthusiasm and initiative. According to the questionnaires for 107 front-line teachers, the results of the questionnaires for teachers show that the Flpped Classroom Teaching Mode can cultivate the students' ability of autonomous study.Through the interview with students in the experimental class and the teachers, the results show that students like Flipped Classroom Teaching Modevery much, and their interest in learning English grammar has improved significantly. The teachers who haven't used this teaching mode are willing to give it a try. The teachers who have applied this teaching mode shared the difficulties they encountered and the measures taken to tackle them.Based on the above findings, the author provides the following suggestions: First, schools should create necessary network teaching environment and provide teachers with necessary technical support. Second, teacher training should be strengthened and teachers' comprehensive quality needs to be improved to successfully implement the new teching mode. Teachers should change their teaching beliefs and perforamces, and should have a large collection of excellent teaching materials. The accumulation of outstanding teaching resources and the production of high-quality videos are a great supplement to the classroom teaching. Third, students' ability to study independently should be cultivated. Students should be trained to cooperate with each other, and to control their own learning. Fourth, parents are supposed to change their educational ideas; and to participate in their children's educational process, so as to witness their children's growth.
