Translation Practice Report On Business Contract From The Perspective Of Semantic Translation

With the quickened pace of global economy integration,China increasingly plays a prominent role in every field of the world.The significance of business contracts,which serves as irreplaceable components of promoting international trade,cannot be understated.However,some translated business contracts leave much to be desired,such as mistranslation,omission and distortion.Therefore,how to translate the business contracts effectively becomes even more important.In light of the above context,this thesis attempts to better translate the business contract under the guidance of semantic translation.Firstly,the translation task and translation process are briefly introduced.Secondly,in the part of cases studies,the thesis deals with the essential connotation of semantic translation approach.Thirdly,the author puts semantic translation into application at two levels: lexical level including technical terms and modal words,syntactic level including adverbial clauses,passive voice.In the process of translation practice,some effective translation strategies and techniques are adopted such as amplification,conversion,linear translation,reverse translation and so on.By the application of semantic translation,this thesis provides a new perspective to study the translation of business contract,thus ensuring the accuracy,preciseness and standardability of the business contract,and offers both theoretical and practical guidance to the translation of business contract.
