Light Come Shining:the Transformations of Bob Dylan is written by Andrew McCarron,the head of religion and philosophy at Trinity School in New York City.He writes the psychobiography published by Oxford University Press in 2017 from the psychological perspective.The book evolves three turning points in Bob Dylan’s life which make a difference to his music.In the light of Peter Newmarks’ semantic and communicative translation,the commentary discusses the strategies and techniques adopted in the translation project.Some typical examples are selected to illustrate the strategies employed at the lexical and syntactic level.The commentary consists of four parts.Part one introduces the background and significance of the translation project.Part two presents the translation theories and methods guided by the semantic and communicative translation.Part three includes the main translation techniques adopted in the process of translation.In the last part,the translator reviews the academic gains in the process of translation.It is hoped that Chinese readers can better understand Bob Dylan’s music from the psychological perspective. |
