A Report On The Translation Of Chapter 7 Of Landscape And Urban Design For Health And Well-Being

The material of this translation report(hereafter referred to as “Report”)is the English-Chinese translation of the book Landscape and Urban Design for Health and Well-Being.This book was compiled by Gayle Souter-Brown and published by Routledge Press in 2015.During translating,the translator used CAT tool,Transmate and online translation tools like PowerWord,Youdao Dict,Google Translation,Bing Dictionary,etc.With the CAT tool and online translation tools,the translator filtered the application results carefully in terms of paragraphs,sentences and letters and compared the multiple translation results in order to get the best translation version which conform to the standards of language style,acceptability,professionalism and technicality.Above all,based on and guided by Eugene A.Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory,the translator made analysis of some typical cases.The translator translated Chapters 6 to 11 and finished this report based on Chapter 7 and its translation.In Chapter 7,the translator's mainly studied the translation of “Healing gardens and cityscapes for disabled children”,within which,the translator studied and analyzed the translation of the successful cases on children in a special school environment,children with autistic spectrum disorders and children in depressing.Due to the fact that studies and academic achievements on healing gardens issues can hardly be found in China,this report may attract the attention of relevant scholars and students to learn from the successful cases and considerable experience in healing gardens in other countries and keep on their practices in this field at home.
