Preliminary Revision Of The International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Mental Health Assessment Tool In Sports1 (SMHAT-1)

Research objectives:At present,the mental health crisis faced by elite athletes is getting more and more intense.In order to explore the establishment of a perfect mental health service system and take practical actions to protect the mental health interests of elite athletes,This study attempts to revise the International Olympic Committee’s(IOC)Sport Mental Health Assessment Tool 1(SMHAT-1)into Chinese and test its applicability.Research methods:1.The initial test was conducted using the athlete Psychological Stress Questionnaire(APSQ),Athlete Sleep Screening Questionnaire(ASSQ),Athlete Concise Eating Disorders Questionnaire(BEDAQ),Alcohol Use Disorder Identification test dosage(AUDIT-C)and drug reduction,anger due to criticism,guilt and CAGE-AID containing drugs.Five scales were used to measure 135elite athletes and the events were analyzed.2.Formal test On the basis of the preliminary test results,655 elite athletes were tested by APSQ,ASSQ,BEDAQ,Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale-7(GAD-7)and patient Health Questionnaire-9(PHQ-9),and the project analysis and reliability and validity test were conducted.3.The construction of norms was used to measure 2104 elite athletes with APSQ,ASSQ,BEDAQ,GAD and PHQ.The norms were in the form of standard fraction norm and percentile norm.Results:APSQ,ASSQ,BEDAQ,GAD and PHQ in the Chinese version of SMHAT-1 were verified to have good psychometric indexes by item analysis and reliability and validity test results.The results of exploratory factor analysis showed that KMO values ranged from 0.722 to 0.918,factor loads were all over 0.4,and explained variance ranged from 52.697%to 68.619%.Confirmatory factor analysis results show that theχ~2/df between 1.584 and 3.316,RMSEA between 0.032 and0.063,GFI between 0.975 and 0.994,AGFI between 0.947 and 0.981,NFI between0.971 and 0.990,RFI ranges from 0.951 to 0.978,IFI ranges from 0.980 to 0.996,TLI ranges from 0.965 to 0.992,CFI ranges from 0.980 to 0.996;APSQ and BEDAQ showed two-factor structure,ASSQ,GAD and PHQ showed single-factor structure.The internal consistency coefficient ranges from 0.740 to 0.910,and the retest reliability of half a month interval ranges from 0.717 to 0.799.In addition,we try to construct the overall norms of the above five scales and the three classification norms of gender,sport group and age among the elite athletes in South China.
