| It is a common goal for both patients and healthy individuals to pursue for a healthier lifestyle today.Mobile technologies improve the efficiency and services of health care,providing possibilities for personal health management.As service-based mobile health has reached a high degree of professional proficiency at abroad,translating such a material into Chinese certainly provides a significant reference for the development of domestic health care.This translation report on Mobile Technologies as a Health Care Tool(Excerpt)intends to explore the translation skills and strategies of scientific texts at lexical,syntactic and textual levels under the guidance of Eugene A.Nida‘s functional equivalence theory.The report includes four parts: task description,process description,case analysis and conclusion.First,the author briefly describes the content and features of the source text and translation objectives,significance and key problems to be solved;second,the author conducts pre-translation preparations,including background gathering,glossary building and parallel texts reading,discusses the application and development of functional equivalence theory,describes the translation tools used in the practice,and summarizes the challenges and difficulties for the translator;finally,a detailed analysis of typical cases in the translation project is made under the guidance of functional equivalence theory,from which the author points out some skills and strategies of translating the EST text into Chinese,including the translation methods of interpretation,zero translation and translation based on the context at lexical level;methods of verbalization,voice change and division at syntactic level;and methods of amplification,reorganization to ensure coherence at textual level.Through this EST text translation report,the author hopes to provide reference and research material for translation in this area. |
