Literary translation at home and abroad has a pivotal position in the history of translation, and it is important for translators to correctly handle the problems existing in literary translation to improve translation quality and promote cultural exchanges among countries. This is an English-to-Chinese translation report on literary translation. The source text is written by three famous American writers:John Green,Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myrick. The contents of the second chapter to the eleventh chapter are chosen as the translation practice by the translator. The original writers take humorous expressions to dramatically describe a series of nonsensical events that happened to a group of travelers around the Western Christmas on a train. After a brief introduction to translation background and translation process, the report puts forward some corresponding solutions to the difficulties and problems which the translators encountered in the process of translation. It points out that the version should be faithful to the original text and some translation methods should also be used in the process of literary translation, especially in novel translation.Conversion,Substituting and Amplification can be used in vocabulary translation; As for pattern translation, cutting and recombination methods can be taken not only to make translated versions well-organized,vivid and infectious, but also meet the appreciation standard of target language readers better and improve its readability. In the last part of this report,it makes a brief summary, including the harvest and the shortcomings of the translation practice,in which solid translation skills and deeper comprehension of literary translation are necessary for translators to make good versions in translation process to satisfy readers' art enjoyment. The translation practice mainly aims at testing the application of translation techniques learned by the translator and accumulating more translation methods and experience in literary translation.
