The Research On Hu Wenying And “Qu Sao Zhi Zhang”

During Qianjia period,scholars attached great importance to sinology.Qianjia period was also the most glorious period of the study of Chu Ci.Some scholars longed to engage in textual research about Chu Ci,such as Jiang Ji,Dai Zhen,and Wang Niansun.But there were many scholars dissatisfied with their study.They concentrated on explaining the main ideas of the text,such as Chen Benli,Liu Mengpeng,and Hu Wen ying.“Qu Sao Zhi Zhang” was one of Hu Wenying's works.It was an outstanding work in Qianjia period.Hu Wenying not only explained the content of Chu Ci,but also focused on textual research.In order to complete this work,he went to Chu five times.His earnest spirit had been praised by Wang Mingsheng.A lot of views of Hu Wenying are acknowledged by modern scholars.At present,there are some research papers about Hu Wenying and “Qu Sao Zhi Zhang”.But we lack more knowledge of him and his works.Even some of our judgment on him has been wrong.In addition,we lack a thorough and comparative study of this book.So it still has great research value.Based on the current research situation,we take Hu Wenying's life story and “Qu Sao Zhi Zhang” as the focus.Because there are lake of relevant records about Hu Wenying's life story and the study of Chu Ci is numerous.So the writing of this paper is not easy.In order to solve the problem,we should use methods such as literature analysis,longitudinal comparison and comprehensive research.This paper corrects the mistakes of predecessors who confused Hu Wenying' name and makes a comprehensive understanding of his life.After analysis,we draw the following conclusions about “Qu Sao Zhi Zhang”.When Hu Wenying started to write “Qu Sao Zhi Zhang”,he had gone to Chu five times for the purpose of annotating the geography,pronunciation and plant better.And he had referred to Chu Ci Zhang Ju,Chu Ci Bu Zhu,and Chu Ci Ji Zhu.By comparing “Qu Sao Zhi Zhang” with them,we can find out the origin of his point of view.We can see that “Qu Sao Zhi Zhang” has been continuance,supplement,extension and innovation to previous notes.The views are simple but creative,and they also enriched the research of Qu Yuan and Chu Ci.But,we also find errors about words,textual interpretation in “Qu Sao Zhi Zhang”.The reason for the error is Hu Wenying's subjective speculation that was no basis.
