A Study Of How Overseas Chinese In Southeast Asia Deal With The Difficulties When Supporting The Domestic Anti-Japanese War

During the period of the War of Resistance Against Japan,the patriotic Overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia made the indelible contribution to support the Anti-Japanese War by the way of financing the War of Resistance generously,publicizing the War of Resistance actively,participating in the defensive war enthusiastically,launching the sanctions to Japan Economic movements fully and so on,which has been intensively and systematically studied by academics.However,Most of us focus one-sidedly on their contributions.Hardly did we pay attention to their tireless efforts when they were confronted with tremendous hardships and misery.In fact,it never ran smoothly.They financed,publicized and participated in the defensive war,and launched the sanctions to Japan Economic movements.But the result was,their efforts met with all kinds of setbacks.The author believes that a study of how they deal with the difficulties when supporting the domestic Anti-Japanese War,not only contributes to shaping their patriotic image more stereoscopically,giving us an insight into their patriotism,but also helps to show a more comprehensive history of how they support the domestic Anti-Japanese War.This thesis was written to figure out how they cleared out the difficulties and kept supporting the War of Resistance against Japanese.The first part mainly introduced how they dealt with the difficulties when financing the War of Resistance.On the one hand,under the great pressure,they extended the donation scope,improved the donation modes and optimized the donation activities.The flexible and private donation strategies were adopted to strike the obstructions created by governments of residing countries.On the other hand,as the colony governments blocked the public grain transportation,they carried out the people-to people diplomacy rationally: Confronted with the sabotages from Japanese troops,they responded with determined resistance.Interfered by Kuomintang die-hard forces,they used the donation tactics flexibly.The second part mainly introduced how they dealt with the difficulties when publicizing the War of Resistance.First of all,the underground propagandas were conducted to break the message blockade of governments of residing countries.Secondly,they embarked on the high-powered campaign to resist Wang Puppet Government,in spite of the ensorcellment from public opinion.At last,Suppressed by the Kuomintang die-hard forces,they fought resolutely to guide the public opinion.The third part mainly introduced how they dealt with the difficulties when launching the sanctions to Japan Economic movements.On the one hand,in terms of its own internal problems,they carried out a wide range of Anti-espionage Activities for many profiteers against the current secretly selling Japanese goods,meanwhile,in view of the part of Chinese entrepreneurs and laborers losing their livelihoods in the process of economic sanctions against Japan,they took a broad spectrum of measures to aid them.On the other hand,as far as external resistance is concerned,in order to strike Japanese Army's conspiracy and destruction,they not only actively carried out Folk International United Front Work,but also took many other measures,such as establishing a committee to review goods,meanwhile,to break through the restrictions from governments of residing countries,they carried out many underground struggles secretly and public struggles rationally.The fourth part mainly introduced how they dealt with the difficulties when participating in the domestic Anti-Japanese War.On the one hand,on the eve of participating in the defensive war,In the face of difficulties on giving up family relationship and raising travelling expenses,they not only tried various devices to get rid of the shackles of family and the strong influence of relatives and friends,but also actively raised money in various ways,such as seeking assistance from overseas Chinese.On the other hand,on the way to the base of the Communist Party of China,in the face of the interference of the Kuomintang die-hards,they not only resisted Kuomintang die-hards' deception with a firm determination,but also got rid of the entanglement of the Kuomintang die-hards in a flexible manner.
