| Verb reduplication, as a special phenomenon in Chinese, is supposed to enrich the linguistic expressions and to enforce the effect of language, which is widely used in daily life and speech communications. Reduplicated form of Chinese verb shows dissimilarities, to some extent, in syntax, semantics and pragmatics, while this reduplication form is absent from Korean. So it will pose some difficulty in the language acquisition for Korean students. I have been worked as a Chinese volunteer in the Confucius Institute of Honam University in Korea for one year. Through the daily teaching did I find that the beginning- intermediate students had made a lot of mistakes in the acquisition process of verb reduplication. In view of this problem, a study of error analysis is delivered in this thesis.Based on the author’s teaching situation in Korea, the thesis set the beginningintermediate learners of Confucius Institute of Honam University as the dominal research object. The teaching materials were selected from the daily-used textbooks of Confucius Institute. Some of them are local Korean teaching materials, the others are domestic teaching materials translated from the Korean. The main corpus was based on the errors chosen from the verb reduplication exercises, the "HSK Composition Corpus" and a small part of students’ diaries and exercises in the textbook that is collected by the author during the teaching process.Through the investigation and the analyses, the thesis found that the errors committed by Korean students in the acquisition of verb reduplication can be divided into the following three categories:(1) default;(2) overflow;(3) badly formed expression.The thesis also analyzed the reasons of the errors committed by Korean students on Chinese verb reduplication and it showed that lacking of verb overlapping "VV" form was the main reason for Korean students, for they were more accustomed to use another form to replace it. What is more, Korean honorific language and students’ avoidance strategy will also reduce the using rate of verb reduplication. Besides, the influence of the tail position mark in Korean, or the blind generalization of target language rules can also lead to overlap errors. Last but not least, studies and analyses should trace back to the teaching practice. At the end of the article, combined with the author’s personal teaching practice, the thesis offered some advice on the classexplanation and post-class exercise design. In order to make it more specific, the thesis also designed a teaching plan, hoping to provide reference for future teaching. |
