Reduplication is an important grammatical means of modern Chinese, but also one of the difficulties in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Words reduplication includes Verb ReduplicationAdjectives Reduplication, Adverbs Reduplication, Quantifiers Reduplication and Noun Reduplication. As we all know, the verb is always putted in the heart position of a sentence, playing a decisive role in the meaning of it, and restricts and contains other components of the total sentence constituent. Therefore, the verb in the sentence is particularly important, so is the overlapping verb. The importance of a grammar often coexists with its complexity. It is difficult for Chinese students to know through the usage of the Verb Reduplication, let alone the foreign students. As a result, although many students have learned this grammatical phenomenon, there will always be an error when they use it, or they choose to have evasive attitude directly in order to avoid errors.The status quo of the urgent need to improve, so the author decided to research With the aid of the authority of the HSK Foreign Students, High-level Composition CorPus. This article mainly divides into four parts:The first part is the introduction.It descripts the significance of the topic and Verb Reduplication ontology research and the people’s study of them, a brief introduction to the scope, object, methodology, significance and Corpus sources.The second part analyses the proportion of data from HSK corpus about Verb Reduplication false sentences.It analyse from the grammar level, semantic level and pragmatic level.And then I conclud that those false sentences are led mostly by Adverbial, object and complement components in terms of the grammar level. In terms of semantic level,It is mainly because that the foreign students didn’t understand the difference between the two. Verb Reduplication mainly has the following meanings:a small amount and a short time, Relaxed and relaxed state, Try to suggest and Euphemism hope. Finally through the pragmatic analysis, It mainly analyzes some ways to emotional color and colloquial style.The third part is on the basis of the first part of analysis of the HSK Corpus, The author adopts the form of questionnaire survey, to collect information and analyse in the hope of getting a more scientific conclusion.The forth part is on the basis of analysis the patterns of error, provide recommendations from the three aspects of textbook compilation, the teachers and the students. I hope this article can be a great help for the foreign student studing this grammar.
