Reading as a special training occupies an important position in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Intermediate reading is transitional, plays a role in linking. Mastering reading skills and knowledge for the improvement of Chinese level play an important role. The textbooks as the basis of teaching, is the foundation of all teaching activities.Writing and choosing good textbooks can make the reading teaching get twice the result with half the effort.For the research required, texts of three mid-level reading textbooks are choosed as the research subject.They are "Developing Chinese Intermediate Reading Course ? and ?", "Step by Step Chinese Intermediate Reading, the first, second, third,and forth volume", "Level Chinese Extensive Reading Textbook, the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth grade". According to the theory of reading teaching Chinese as a foreign language, language reading principle of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and teaching materials of evaluation methods such as theory and a report on a survey of the experts and scholars, using mathematical statistics and comparative analysis, from the text, the new words, practice, writing style and so on four aspects of statistical analysis of the three sets of teaching materials and some Suggestions on the writing of intermediate Chinese reading textbooks.This research is made of three parts:introduction, body and conclusion.Introduction part mainly points out that the reason and significance of this thesis topic, the research objects are introduced and the basis of choicing, gave a definition to relevant concepts, this paper introduces the related theoretical basis, research method of this paper, and Chinese as a foreign language reading teaching and the research achievements of Chinese as a foreign language reading teaching in recent years.Body parts, respectively from the text, the new word, the exercise, compliant style and so on four aspects to study three sets of textbooks. The research of text mainly can be divided into three parts, the source, subject matter and the length of article. The suggestions for text compliant under the term of statistics are:broadening the source of selecting teaching materials; rebalancing the proportion of various subjects, increasing the practical teaching materials; preventing the unsuitable materials from the teaching materials; clarifying the reference and balancing the proportion of long, medium and short literary text. The research of new words sets third in the statistics of the amount, difficulty and presentation of the words. The proposals of new words according to the research are:regulating the amount and difficulty of the new words; regulating the presentation of new words and increasing the Chinese annotation in each volume. The research of practice can be divided into two parts, the quantity and question type of practice. This paper conducts the proposal as:setting the suitable practice; balancing the proportion of primary and secondary practice type; arranging the practice reasonably; fixing the practice order and designing the novelty practice form. The research of compliant style is implemented into two directions, the analysis of structure arrangement and modular construction type materials of skills. The proposals are: revolving the materials united with skill practice, spiral recurring theme; setting the fixed amount of reading practice; setting the review unit and examination unit; putting forward the indication before the reading; applying the vivid binging style and providing the reference version.Conclusion part, the paper summarizes the main research and recommendations, illustrates the difficulties in the process of study and the shortage of the intermediate Chinese reading textbooks written is prospected. Hope this research can help in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Hope that this article research results may be helpful for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
